SPRINGBOARD MILE - Top 2-year-old Race Featured on Final Day of Season: Sunday, Dec. 13

The Remington-MEC Mile, the track’s prime 2-year-old stakes opportunity, has moved to the final day of competition on Dec. 13 and will carry a richer purse and new name.

Now used as a launching point from freshman status into the run for the classic 3-year-old races, the race will now be known as the Springboard Mile and boast its richest purse ever at $200,000, up from $125,000 in 2008 when it was won by Kick On.

The first race at Remington Park on the final day of the 2009 Thoroughbred Season is at 1:30pm.
