TED'S FOLLY
Owner: Steve Martin
Trainer: Wilson Brown
Jockey: Jose Angel Medina
Morning Line Odds: 20-1
The winner of the 2011 Springboard Mile at Remington Park, Ted’s Folly received an all fees paid pass into the Oklahoma Derby as part of his bounty for winning the top 2-year-old race here
A winner of seven of 14 career attempts, Ted’s Folly is still an all or nothing runner, either winning the race or not finishing in the top three
Most recently he was fourth, beaten 4-3/4 lengths behind Diamond Joe in the allowance on Sept. 14 that served as a local prep for the Oklahoma Derby
He joins Diamond Joe as the only runners who have started and won a race at Remington Park that will go in the derby
Owned by Steve Martin of Morrison, Okla. and trained by Wilson Brown, Ted’s Folly has lifetime earnings of $375,082
He was Remington Park’s 2011 Horse of the Meeting by virtue of his six consecutive wins during the season
Brown is attempting his first win in the Oklahoma Derby, he saddled Mister Deville to a close second in 2000, missing by a neck to Performing Magic
Jockey Jose Medina has his normal spot on Ted’s Folly, he has ridden the gelding in all of his Remington Park starts.
