OKLAHOMA CLASSICS – Million Dollar Night of Great State Racing
The 21st renewal of the Oklahoma Classics, a stakes-racing night featuring the top Oklahoma-bred stakes horses worth more than $1,000,000 in purse money, is on Friday, Oct. 18 at Remington Park.
A total of eight divisional stakes events will be contested, led by the $175,000 Classics Cup for older horses at 1-1/16 miles, is the main event of an evening full of recognition for the best racing the state has to offer.
In addition to the top-flight action on the track, Oklahoma Classics night also features a full evening of Red Earth Festivities, honoring the state’s Native American heritage. Guests will enjoy Art Booths, Tribal Dancers, Teepees on the Plaza and the annual ‘Painting of the Ponies’ as the horses used to escort the racers on the track get into the spirit of the night.
The first race for Oklahoma Classics 2013 is at 7pm. Red Earth Festivities begin on the Plaza at 5pm.
