OKLAHOMA CITY – The second week of training race activity at Remington Park opened with a special Monday afternoon set of 10 events. Unlike a week ago when the fields competed into a strong headwind for their 250-yard runs, today the contestants had the advantage of a light tailwind of 9-14mph.

Kiss My Heineken rolled in the third training race under jockey Jimmy Brooks, covering the 250 yards on a fast track in :13.58 seconds to win by three-quarters of a length while hand ridden. Owned by Jeff Carter and trained by Eddie Willis, Kiss My Heineken is a 2-year-old gelding by Carters Cartel from Fredaville, a multiple stakes winner in her career, including three such races at Remington Park in 2011 and 2012.

Kiss My Heineken is a Heritage Place sales graduate, having gone through the 2015 Yearling sale $22,000.

Monday’s 10 training races ups the total for the Remington Park pre-season to 35. Remington Park will conduct seven more training races on Tuesday, beginning at 11am.

The Remington Park 2016 American Quarter Horse Season will begin Friday, March 11 and continue thru Saturday, June 4. Post times for the first three race dates will be 6pm on March 11, 5pm on March 12 and 1:30pm on March 13.

Open daily for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, home of the historic $400,000 Oklahoma Futurity. The 75th running of the oldest futurity in Quarter Horse racing takes place on Saturday, March 26, 2016.
