OKLAHOMA CITY – Trainer Cody McCart will send three runners to the Grade 1, $109,300 American Paint Classic Futurity, led by DTL Samureye, who had the best time in the 350-yard trials.

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Dean and Tonya Lester of Skiatook, Okla., DTL Samureye covered the distance in 18.218 seconds over a fast track. Jockey Jesus Salazar had the mount. A 2-year-old Paint gelding by SF Royal Quick Flash from the Mr Eye Opener (qh) mare Eysa Savvy Queen, DTL Samureye won his first career race with his trial score.

McCart also saddled DTL Lil Red Corvette to victory and qualification for the Lesters in the third trial. In trial four, McCart saddled the winner as DJ Payly D scored and qualified.

The 10 finalists for the American Paint Classic Futurity on April 29, with their individual time and trial: DTL Samureye, 18.218 seconds (trial 2); Fishin Paint, 18.297 seconds (trials 2); Hotwiredotcom, 18.334 seconds (trial 1); Bar Quero, 18.345 seconds (trial 2); Bully Pulpit, 18.462 seconds (trial 1); DTL Lil Red Corvette 18.471 seconds (trial 3); JS Apollo Six, 18.480 seconds (trial 2); DJ Pauly D, 18.482 seconds (trial 4); RP Recklesslivewire, 18.490 seconds (trial 4) and Quick Tosa, 18.510 seconds (trial 2).

The four trials were conducted into southerly headwinds, ranging from 16-20mph.

The short week of racing will conclude with Saturday night action at Remington Park, underway at 6pm-Central. There will be no live racing on Easter Sunday, April 16.
