OKLAHOMA CITY – The Remington Park stable area opened this morning, allowing trainers to bring horses on the grounds in preparation for the 2017 Thoroughbred Season. Trainer Kari Craddock was first through the gates at 8:45am, arriving with four horses, now stalled in barn A-6.

A regular at Remington Park since the track opened in 1988, Craddock saddled 111 starters during the 2016 season. Her athletes won 11 races while finishing second 19 times with another 13 crossing the finish in third place. The Brookings, S.D. native currently has 599 career victories according to Equibase, the official supplier of racing statistics in North America.

Craddock had Oklahoma-bred Pure Chrome and the stakes-placed Mav Master in her first quartet to arrive this morning. Pure Chrome, owned by the Dallas partnership of Hal Browning and David Faulkner, counts a pair of Remington Park wins from his four career victories. The 5-year-old gelding by Kipling from the Reel On Reel mare Reel Chrome finished fifth in the $130,000 Oklahoma Classics Sprint last year, behind Okie Ride, a four-time winner of the race. Pure Chrome has earned $91,051 in his career.

Mav Master, owned solely by Browning, has yet to finish out of the top three in any of his races this year. A 4-year-old Texas-bred gelding by Mizzen Mast from the Langfuhr mare Annie Savoy, Mav Master has started seven times in 2017 with a win, two seconds and four third-place runs. He was stakes-placed twice against Texas-bred foes early this year while competing at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston.

Trainer Veronica Griggs was close behind the Craddock party, bringing six horses into the Remington Park stable area at 8:50am.

The 2017 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season will begin on August 25. The 67-date meeting runs thru December 17.

Tracked by over 126,000 fans on Facebook and more than 9,200 Twitter followers, Remington Park has provided over $171 Million to the State of Oklahoma general education fund since the opening of the casino in 2005. Home of the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby on Sept. 24, Remington Park is Oklahoma City’s only Racetrack & Casino, located at the junction of Interstates 35 & 44, in the heart of the Oklahoma City Adventure District.
