OKLAHOMA CITY – The Remington Park debut was a successful one for Howboutthiscowgirl as she pulled away to win a $34,000 allowance/optional $75,000 claiming race by two lengths. The event was the Wednesday night feature for 2-year-old fillies.

Owned and bred in Texas by Douglas Scharbauer of Midland, Texas and trained by Bret Calhoun, Howboutthiscowgirl was ridden by Iram Diego. The dark gray filly sat behind the early leaders Twist Tail and Line Of Credit in the 5-1/2 furlong race. Rolling three-wide in the lone turn, Howboutthiscowgirl made her move for the front as Twist Tail faded, and Line Of Credit was briefly the lone frontrunner. Howboutthiscowgirl gained control with just under a furlong remaining, pulling away to win in 1:04.85 over a fast main track. Line Of Credit held second while Got Moxie rallied for third, 3-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

Howboutthiscowgirl was at 7-2 odds in the wagering and paid $9.40 to win, $4.20 to place and $3 to show. Line Of Credit was the beaten favorite at 2-1 odds, returning $3.20 to place and $2.60 to show. Got Moxie paid $12 to show

The win was the second from only three starts for Howboutthiscowgirl, a daughter of My Golden Song from the Gold Legend mare Nothinbettertodo. She made $20,145 for the score to run her total earnings to $35,670.
