OKLAHOMA CITY – Blabimir dashed to a big lead in a $34,000 allowance sprint on Wednesday at Remington Park, then held on to cross the finish first by a nose for his second consecutive win.

Claimed for $15,000 out of a winning race on Sept. 23 by trainer Scott Young for Dewey, Okla. owner John James Revocable Trust, Blabimir tested allowance ranks on Wednesday at six furlongs for his new connections. Jockey Floyd Wethey, Jr. sent the 3-year-old gelding immediately to the lead and he opened up by five lengths with a quarter-mile remaining. Blabimir began to tire as he continued down the stretch with rivals gaining with every stride. U S Special Forces was moving quickly to Blabimir who found the finish by a slim nose for victory in 1:10.43 over a fast track. Mystery Solved was third, 1-1/2 lengths behind the winner.

Blabimir was at 9-2 odds in the wagering and paid $11.80 to win, $6.40 to place and $4.80 to show. U S Special Forces returned $5.20 to place and $3.40 to show. Mystery Solved paid $5.40 to show. All About Ashley was the beaten wagering favorite at 6-5 odds, finishing fourth.

Blabimir won his fourth career race from 13 attempts. A Kentucky-bred son of Tapizar from the Elusive Quality mare Starlight Lady, Blabimir made $20,247 to run his overall earnings to $84,963.

Remington Park Thoroughbred racing continues Thursday thru Saturday, Oct. 12-14 with the first race nightly at 7pm. The featured stakes race this week is the $50,000 E.L. Gaylord Memorial for 2-year-old fillies on Friday night.
