OKLAHOMA CITY – Heavy thunderstorms and high winds forced Remington Park to cancel the final five races on the Saturday night program.

Race one was conducted over a fast track while race two was run over a firm turf course. Before race three, rain began to fall and the track and been sealed. By the time race four was up, the rain was extremely heavy and lightning was closing in on Remington Park. The field for race five was in the saddling paddock, in delay for approximately 25 minutes, hoping for the storm and lightning to dissipate, but it did not.

Remington Park was forced to cancel races due to weather for the first time in the Thoroughbred season since Sept. 9, 2016. That night, one race was canceled at the end of the program.

The Remington Park Thoroughbred Season resumes Wednesday thru Saturday, Oct. 25-28, with the first race at 7pm-Central.
