OKLAHOMA CITY – The winning streak continued Wednesday night at Remington Park for Compose as she piled up her fifth straight win, handling a six-furlong sprint at the $20,000-claiming level to win by 2-3/4 lengths.

Owned by T and M Precision Services of Claremore, Okla. and trained by Andy Gladd, Compose was ridden by Iram Diego. The 6-year-old Virginia-bred mare shot to the front from the start and was never seriously threatened, crossing the finish in 1:10.08 over a fast track. Miss Coco made a run at Compose in the stretch but did not threaten to pass. Stolen Glory was a distant third, 13-3/4 lengths behind the winner.

Compose started her winning streak on June 10 at Fair Meadows in Tulsa this summer. She won three races in Tulsa before arriving to win her first Remington Park race of the season on Oct. 7.

Away as the betting favorite at 6-5 odds, Compose paid $4.60 to win, $2.40 to place and $2.10 to show. Miss Coco paid $3.40 to place and $2.40 to show. Stolen Glory paid $3.40 to show.

The fifth straight win for Compose was her 13th career victory from 28 starts. A mare by Stephen Got Even from the Broad Brush mare Conduct, Compose made $14,088 for the win to run her overall earnings to $142,213.

Remington Park Thoroughbred racing continues Thursday and Friday at 7pm. The $100,000 Clever Trevor Stakes is featured on Friday night for 2-year-olds going seven furlongs. Saturday racing begins earlier than normal, at 1:30pm. The Saturday live racing will alternate with the Breeders’ Cup World Championship races simulcast to Remington Park from Del Mar.
