OKLAHOMA CITY – Moving back to the main track, and stepping into the open allowance ranks, worked to the favor of Enchanting Embrace on Friday at Remington Park. The 3-year-old filly pulled clear to win a $38,675 allowance for fillies going one mile, scoring by 2-3/4 lengths.

Owned by Danny Caldwell of Poteau, Okla. and trained by Federico Villafranco, Enchanting Embrace was ridden by Ramon Vazquez. She had faced arguably the top Oklahoma-bred filly in training when she ran fourth behind Gianna’s Dream in the $130,000 Oklahoma Classics Filly & Mare Turf on Oct. 20.

Enchanting Embrace fared much better with her first November attempt. After battling for the lead with Acumen through the first six furlongs, Vazquez asked and Enchanting Embrace responded. She quickly moved to the lead at the top of the stretch and was never threatened while driving to the finish. Sure Thing Sheila rallied for second while Imsortaspecial finished third, 4-1/2 lengths behind the winners. Enchanting Embrace crossed the line in 1:39.31 over the fast track.

Slightly overlooked in the wagering at 9-2 odds, Enchanting Embrace paid $11.60 to win, $6 to place and $4.40 to show. Sure Thing Sheila paid $12.40 to place and $7.20 to show. Imsortaspecial paid $5.20 to show. D Cal Okie was the beaten betting favorite at 3-2 odds, finishing eighth.

Enchanting Embrace is an Oklahoma-bred filly by Include from the Vindication mare Exotic. She won her third career race from 10 starts, and her second race of the Remington Park season. The winner’s check of $24,718 runs her total earnings to $90,705.

Remington Park Thoroughbred racing continues Saturday, Nov. 11, with the first race nightly at 7pm.
