OKLAHOMA CITY – A special Monday afternoon program started the final week of the 2017 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season. Irish Capital pulled away from Euramaster late in the stretch of the $43,350 allowance feature for Oklahoma-breds to win by one length.

Irish Capital won his second race from his last three attempts for owner Stephen Baker of Dallas. Trained by Brent Davidson and ridden by Deshawn Parker, Irish Capital won the six-furlong race in 1:11.36 over a fast track. Euramaster made a bid but came up empty to the winner. Visual Punch finished third, 2-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

Away at 5-1 odds in the betting, Irish Capital paid $13 to win, $5.40 to place and $3.60 to show. Euramaster paid $3.20 to place and $2.20 to show. Visual Punch returned $2.80 to show as the beaten 2-1 wagering favorite.

The Monday win was the third from 15 career starts for Irish Capital, a 3-year-old gelding by Dublin from the Kipling mare Taylor Madison. The winner’s share of $24,820 moves his career earnings to $83,698.

The 2017 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season has just four race dates remaining. Action resumes on Tuesday, Dec. 12 with a special afternoon program starting at 3pm-Central. There will be no live racing on Wednesday or Thursday, Dec. 13 & 14. Then the final three race dates take place Friday thru Sunday, Dec. 15-17.

The season concludes on Sunday, Dec. 17 with the $400,000 Springboard Mile leading a slate of stakes events that afternoon.
