WINTER CONTINUES TO PLAY WITH TRAINING RACE SCHEDULE

For Immediate Release
Monday, February 25, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park is losing the winter-weather game to this point as scheduled training races have been rescheduled for a third time.

Training Races that were moved from last week to today and Tuesday (Feb. 25 & 26) have been canceled due to a winter storm moving through central Oklahoma throughout the day. The storm is expected to bring between 3-8 inches of snow to Oklahoma City.

Hopefully, when this round of winter clears, Remington Park will resume training race activity with two sessions on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, March 1. The training races are integral in preparing young horses with no actual racing experience for their initial outings that will take place early in the season.

Training races will begin at 11:30am on Thursday and Friday this week.

Remington Park had scheduled training races to run on Feb. 20-21… then moved to Feb. 21-22… before moving to a Feb. 25-27 plan, which has now been set for the agenda outlined today for Feb. 28 & March 1.

The American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season runs from March 8 and continues thru June 2 and marks the start of the 25th Anniversary Year of Horse Racing at Remington Park. Normal post time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is 6pm with Sunday afternoon racing offered at 1:30pm.

Open daily at 10:30am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park.

Tracked by over 31,000 fans on Facebook and 3,500 Twitter followers, Remington Park is Oklahoma City’s only Racetrack & Casino and is located at the junction of Interstates 35 & 44, in the heart of the Oklahoma City Adventure District.
