REMINGTON PARK STABLE AREA OPENS, VARGAS FIRST TO ARRIVE WITH HORSES FOR 2013 SEASON

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 2013 Remington Park American Quarter Horse & Mixed-Breed Season begins on March 8. Early this morning, the stable area opened to receive horses for the upcoming season with trainer Raymond Vargas taking quick advantage of the opportunity.
Vargas was the first trainer to arrive with horses, passing through the Remington Park stable gate at 4:54am. He settled a group of four in his shed row in Barn B-3, before continuing to shuttle horses into the barn throughout the remainder of the morning.
“I like to get here and get started,” Vargas said. “We’ll be ready to go when the track opens for training.”
Training over the Remington Park racing surface begins at 7am on Tuesday morning, Feb. 5. The first day of training races will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11:30am.
The American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season begins the 25th Anniversary of live racing at Remington Park. The season runs from March 8 and continues thru June 2. Normal post times on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is at 6pm with Sunday afternoon racing offered at 1:30pm.
Open daily at 10:30am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park.
