25TH YEAR OF RACING BEGINS IN ONE MONTH AT REMINGTON PARK

OKLAHOMA CITY – Exactly one month from today, Remington Park will begin its 25th Anniversary Year, featuring the start of the live racing season with the American Quarter Horse & Mixed-Breed opening night on Friday, March 8.

The first weekend of action will be dominated by important qualifying trials for the historic Oklahoma Futurity, the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Derby, the Oklahoma Paint Futurity and the Speedhorse/Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby. Additionally, the stakes racing calendar begins with the Grade 2, $50,000 Eastex Handicap on Sunday, March 10.

The Oklahoma Futurity, the longest-running futurity in American Quarter Horse racing dating to 1947, will be run on Saturday, March 23 with its qualifying trials on Saturday, March 9.

Remington Park will celebrate the beginning of its 25th racing year with plenty of winning promotional opportunities for racing guests during the Opening Weekend, March 8-10, featuring ‘Quarters for Quarters,’ Super Select 7 Giveaways, 25th Anniversary Caps for Cash and Sunday Wagering Sprees.

Quarters for Quarters
Friday night, March 8, guests can win in our ‘Quarters for Quarters’ drawings. Guests may enter the drawing in the Racing Entrance lobby beginning at 5pm. Fans will be selected throughout the racing program and they will choose a prize bag containing at least 25 rolls of Quarters!

Super Select 7
Saturday, March 9, fans will take part in the Super Select 7 competition. Entries begin in the Racing Entrance lobby at 5pm. Selections will be made throughout the race card with guests coming to the Winner’s Circle to choose one of the Super Select 7 logos on the Coors Light Superscreen. Behind each logo is a cash prize value the guest will win.

25th Anniversary Caps for Cash
Sunday, March 10, afternoon racing gets underway with the first 2,500 fans thru the Racing Entrance lobby receiving a collectible 25th Anniversary Cap. Fans will be encouraged to wear the cap back to Remington Park on all Sundays throughout the Quarter Horse Season and when they do, they will receive $5 in Racing Free Play!

Sunday Wagering Sprees
Sunday, March 10 will also debut the Sunday Wagering Sprees that will take place every Sunday afternoon throughout the season. A total of three Wagering Sprees will be conducted, allowing guests 30-seconds to make as many $2 straight wagers as they can. Remington Park pays for the wagers and if they win, the guests keep the cash! Guests can enter the wagering spree drawing starting at Noon in the Racing Entrance lobby.

The American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season runs from March 8 and continues thru June 2. Normal post time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is 6pm with Sunday afternoon racing offered at 1:30pm.
