REMINGTON PARK GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITS LOCAL CHARITIES

Riders Cup Golf Tournament raises funds for 15 Remington Park partner charities

OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 13, 2018) – Remington Park’s 12th annual Riders Cup Golf Tournament tees off Monday, Sept. 24. The event kicks off the week leading up to the Oklahoma Derby, the final major derby of the year in North America, and it’s the largest fundraiser of the year for Remington Park’s multiple partner charities.

Remington Park currently partners with 15 Oklahoma charities that serve the welfare of both people and animals as a way to give back to the community. Remington Park raises funds throughout the year for the organizations that largely focus on health, wellness and education.

“The Riders Cup gives those who love horse racing, golf or being outdoors an opportunity to support several great local nonprofits all at once,” said Dale Day, track announcer at Remington Park. “Our partner charities work hard to make a difference in our state, and this is one way we can support their missions.”

This year’s Riders Cup Golf Tournament benefits WovenLife, Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Oklahoma Thoroughbred Retirement Program, the American Heart Association of Oklahoma, Anna’s House Foundation, Lyric Theatre, Langston University, CASA of Oklahoma County, Positive Tomorrows, Freedom School Oklahoma City, Autism Oklahoma, Warriors for Freedom Foundation, YWCA, Family Awareness and Community Teamwork, and Dress for Success.

Remington Park has an ongoing commitment to support local charities. Applications to become an official Remington Park partner charity for 2019 and 2020 are now being accepted and can be downloaded online. The deadline to apply is October 31.

The Riders Cup Golf Tournament takes place at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City. Participants still have time to register in advance online. Participants can also register the morning of the event. Registration and breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories.
