EXTREME HOLIDAY SHOWDOWN
Racing on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Remington Park gets an extreme makeover of festive fun with the first Holiday Showdown, presented by the Thoroughbred Racing Association of Oklahoma.
This special event, with plenty of holiday flair and interactions will begin prior to the evening’s first Thoroughbred race at 6:30pm. Action includes special races on the track, with holiday character fun, plenty of photo opportunities, carolers, costume contests and more. Guests can also visit and take photos with reindeers, along with the Express Ranch Clydesdales. Of course, Santa will also be available for photos!
Adults may enjoy a Mulled Wine-tasting festival. Tickets are offered for advance purchase online.
A hot cocoa bar will offer everyone a variety of special toppings for their favorite and sweet warming drink. The Ski Lodge Bar will be in service on the track plaza, featuring a wide variety of adult drinks and adult cocoa, while you cheer your favorites on the track to victory.
The Holiday Showdown events will be distributed throughout Remington Park with booths and interactive stations on the track level inside, the track plaza outside and on the clubhouse level.
The Holiday Showdown will help raise proceeds for Remington Park Charity partners who will be in attendance for awareness of their causes, while participating in the night.
The first-ever Holiday Showdown will open for guests at 5pm and continue until 9pm. The initial special race of the night will take place at 5:45pm., just before the start of the night’s Thoroughbred racing at 6:30pm.
HOLIDAY SHOWDOWN COSTUME AND ATTIRE CONTEST
The Extreme Holiday Showdown festivities at Remington Park on Saturday, November 16 offer all guests more fun with a Holiday Costume and Attire Contest!
Guests can enter the contest, dressed as a Holiday Character or simply in the spirit of the Holidays. The contest will be held on the Clubhouse level north beginning at 6pm, with cash prizes!
The Contest is free to enter and starts promptly 6pm. The celebrity judges for the costume contest are softball stars for the University of Oklahoma: Kinzie Hansen, Kiersten Deal and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas.
The Extreme Holiday Showdown action begins at 5:45pm with the first extreme race, Thoroughbred racing begins at 6:30pm.
Parking and admission are free at Remington Park where the casino is always open.
Cheer on your favorite your favorite holiday characters as they race down the track between the live Thoroughbred races
Christmas Race
Santa, Elsa, Jack Skellington, Grinch, Cindy Lou and Buddy the Elf will race down the track in the Christmas Race.
Holiday Race
Valentine’s Day, New Years, Easter Bunny, Independence Day, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day and Thanksgiving will all be represented in the Holiday race.
Holiday Showdown
The winners from the Christmas Race and Holiday Race will compete in the Holiday Showdown.
Santa Photos
Santa will be on hand to take pictures and hand out keepsakes to the first 200 children
Holiday Characters
Your favorite holiday characters will be stationed all over for photos during the Holiday Showdown. Meet and greet Buddy the Elf, Cindy Lou, Jack Skellington, Elsa and the Grinch.
FURever Home Race
Join Nexus Pets as their long term foster *dogs joyfully run down the track in Christmas attire. Visit their booth for more information on bringing these pups home for the holidays.
*This event focuses on showcasing rescue animals to raise awareness and support shelter adoptions. Only rescue dogs will be participating and allowed in the building at Remington Park, as our goal is to help these animals find loving homes and to highlight the importance of adoption.
