OKLAHOMA CITY – Trainer Clint Crawford and jockey G.R. Carter each enjoyed three-win evenings as the new racing week started Thursday at Remington Park. The triples for both catapulted each into a tie atop their respective standings.

Crawford picked up his first winner in race five with Fast Bobby ($5.20 to win) rolling to an easy win in his career debut. This Political Candy ($3.40) was another sharp first-time winner for Crawford in race seven, ridden by Carter. The Crawford hat trick wrapped up in race nine when Piloto Strong ($7.60) scored, also ridden by Carter.

The Carter win that was not on a runner trained by Crawford, came in race six aboard Olivers Travels ($5.40), who is trained by Allen Hybsha.

The three wins for Crawford give him seven on the season. The Sallisaw, Okla. resident is now tied in the trainer standings with Matt Whitekiller for the lead.

The Carter triple also moves him into a tie at the head of the jockey standings with eight wins. Sharing the lead with Carter are Cody Smith and Daniel Torres.

The American Quarter Horse Season continues Friday thru Sunday, March 23-25. The first race nightly is at 6pm with Sunday racing starting at 1:30p.m.

The 77th Oklahoma Futurity will headline the Saturday program on March 24. The Grade 3 event carries a purse of $371,200. Also on the program Saturday: the Grade 3, $218,000 Oklahoma Derby; the Grade 1, $178,375 Oklahoma Paint/Appaloosa Futurity; the Grade 1, $68,500 Speedhorse Graham Paint/Appaloosa Derby and the $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile.
