Trainer Steve Asmussen his fifth Remington Park Oaks on Sunday, Sept. 27, scoring with Rileytole under Paco Lopez.

The 1-1/16 miles event, worth $200,000, featured five 3-year-old fillies with Bank Shot off as the 9-5 wagering favorite. Rileytole entered the first turn four-wide, a couple lengths off the pace-setting Justified Gift who utilized her rail post position to take advantage of a ground-saving and speedy start. Under Hall of Fame jockey John Valezquez, Justified Gift held the lead until the end of the backstretch when Bank Shot went to the front.

Lopez moved Rileytole outside for her bid and was four-wide off the final turn to the stretch where she took the lead once straightening away. Bank Shot and Krissy Star stayed engaged with Rileytole and the trio battled until the final yards when Lopez was able to get his filly to pull away to a 1-3/4 length score in 1:45.72 over the fast track.

Bank Shot held second, a head better than Krissys Star (2-1 odds) who was third. P R Stitch (6-1) was fourth, 13 lengths behind the winner. Justified Gift faded to last, after leading for more than half the race, beaten 25-3/4 lengths.

Rileytole stalked the pace of :24.03 for the opening quarter-mile, :47.81 for the half-mile before Bank Shot took over and reached six furlongs in 1:12.76. Rileytole led at a mile in 1:39.03.

A Kentucky-bred filly by Mitole from the Bellamy Road mare Picolata, Rileytole was 2-1 in the wagering and paid $6.60 to win, $3.20 to place and $2.10 to show.
