For Immediate Release
Saturday, October 10, 2026

The Remington Park turf course was playing to speedy horses Saturday night as both races at about 7-1/2 furlongs were of track-record breaking time. The one that stood up at the end of the night was for Expo City, stopping the timer in the third race at that distance in 1:29.46 over the firm going.

That broke the record of 1:29.70 set by multiple stakes-winning Excaping the Blues on Aug. 23, 2025. Expo City won his race against $30,000 claiming non-winners of two under jockey Floyd Wethey, Jr. This new record holder is a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred gelded son of Not This Time, out of the Dubawi (IRE) mare Dubai Life and is trained by Dick Cappellucci.

Expo City stalked in fourth place just off the early blistering pace through the first half mile. The front-running Every Third Day (23-1) set the first two fractions in :23.76 for the quarter-mile and :46.85 for the half-mile. He eventually faded to seventh in the field of nine. Expo City’s race was restricted to 3-year-old colts and geldings.

Expo City took over at the top of the stretch for owner Judge Lanier Racing and H.P. Drought and Company of Fort Sumner, N.M. and drew away to win by 6-1/4 lengths as the 2-5 odds-on favorite. He set the three-quarters time of 1:11.34 before setting the new course record.

Just two races later, in the fifth of the night, Goldbrick won that event at the same distance. His mark of 1:29.58 also bettered the course record from a year ago but he was two races late from the newest standard set earlier in the evening.

Expo City paid $2.80 to win, $2.20 to place and $2.10 to show. Checking in second was C. P. A. Jim (15-1), another three-quarters of a length ahead of third-running Crypto Corry (11-1).

Expo City was bred by Godolphin and was purchased for $22,000 from the Keeneland Association Horses of Racing Age Sale 2025. He won $16,536 on Saturday night to improve to 15 starts, two wins, six seconds and three thirds for a total bankroll of $71,551.
