JC THE HITMAN SCORES EASY JET STAKES AT REMINGTON PARK

The $75,000 Easy Jet Stakes on Saturday, May 31 at Remington Park provided the setting for JC The Hitman to run his winning streak to three straight wins, as he pulled clear for a one-length score.

Remington Park’s season jockey champ, Juan Pulido was up, and managed to get to the lead shortly after the start of the 350-yard race for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old colts and geldings. Once on top, JC The Hitman cleared the field by daylight, before quickly drifting towards the inside rail from his outside post position over the final 100 yards of the Easy Jet. Fortunately, JC The Hitman had no one to his inside as he crossed the finish, well ahead, in :17.562 for a speed index of 91.

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Jose Cervantes of Mustang, Okla. and trained by Josue Garcia, JC The Hitman is by Flying Cowboy 123 from the Ivory James mare JC Storm.

The wagering favorite at 5-2 odds, JC The Hitman paid $7 to win, $3.60 to place and $3 to show. Godz Speed started well but could not fend off the winner, settling for second. Ding Dang Dulce finished another head behind in third.

This was the second victory in the Easy Jet Stakes for Pulido, who also won the race in 2018 with Fly N Tell. It was the first Easy Jet score for Cervantes and Garcia.
