MORE MAJOR PLAYERS ARRIVE AT REMINGTON PARK FOR OKLAHOMA DERBY

For Immediate Release
Friday, September 25, 2026

The 5-2 morning line favorite for the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby, Silent Tactic, and another top choice, J J Grey at 5-1 odds, both arrived at Remington Park on Friday.

The richest race of the season takes place Sunday, Sept. 27, headlining a 12-race program with eight stakes events.

Silent Tactic, who was prominent on the Triple Crown trail earlier this year, has taken up residence for trainer Mark Casse in the Remington barn of fellow conditioner Scott Young. The 3-year-old Kentucky bred colt by Tacitus, out of the Gun Runner mare Magical Sign, won the Grade 3, $1 million Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark. On Feb. 6 before finishing as the runner-up in the Grade 2, $1 million Rebel and Grade 1 $1.5 million Arkansas Derby this spring. A foot issue was the only thing that kept him out of the Kentucky Derby. Silent Tactic is owned by John Oxley and Victoriam Farm of Tulsa, Okla., and was bred by Don Alberto Corporation. He is the top money earner in the field with $1,119,422 banked.

J J Grey was sent to the barn of local trainer Justin Evans for the 3-year-old Kentucky-bred’s conditioner, Ken McPeek. J J Grey, sired by Street Boss, out of the Fairbanks mare Norquay, was the winner of the $250,000 Iowa Derby at Prairie Meadows in Altoona on July 11. He is owned by Shamrock Stables (Rob Hutcherson), MJM Racing and Magdalena Racing of Lexington, Ky.

J J Grey leads the 10 entrants to the Oklahoma Derby in wins, boasting five career scores.

Eoff Barn Proves Golden with Consecutive Winners Friday
Trainer Terry Eoff’s horses were his Golden Ticket on Friday night as he sent out consecutive winners in the sixth and seventh races with Gold Front and Dancin for Gold.

Those two from Eoff’s barn won allowance-optional claiming races, beating some tough company. Jockey Weston Hamilton and Floyd Wethey, Jr., booted home the two winners, respectively. Gold Front was a winner at five furlongs on the turf. Dancin for Gold followed that up with a win at five furlongs on the dirt. Eoff owns and trains both horses.

Gospel Clarity Pulls Huge Upset at 33-1 in Friday Finale
Killa Sally won a one-mile starter allowance-options claiming race at Saratoga in upstate New York in July for trainer Ken McPeek. After training in Kentucky, Killa Sally shipped to Remington Park and went off as the even-money favorite in an allowance for Oklahoma-breds searching for their third career win on Friday night.

Gospel Clarity and owner/trainer Steve Williams were having none of it, however, as they protected their home turf like it was divine intervention, winning the turf allowance race at 33-1 odds and paying $68 to win on a $2 ticket.

Gospel Clarity, a 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred filly by Gospel Tiz Key, out of the Cross Traffic mare Confused, was chasing Killa Sally down the lane in the final sixteenth of a mile and actually had to check up when there was no room. That didn’t keep jockey Emmanuel Zabala and Gospel Clarity from giving up. Zabala got the longshot winner to re-fire and zoomed past the heavy favorite by 1-1/4 lengths at the wire.

With 35-1 longshot Everyone Nos Wendy checking in third, that bomb sandwich of 33-1, even-money, 35-1 running first, second and third caused a light show of payouts on the toteboard. The 50-cent trifecta returned $1,481.50, the 10-cent superfecta with 8-1 Miss Code Red in fourth was worth $1,357.86. The late Pick 4 paid $1,932.25 and the Late Pick 5 returned $8,642.85.

Remington Park racing continues Saturday, Sept. 26 at 6:30pm. Then the special Oklahoma Derby Day card on Sunday, Sept. 27 begins at 3pm. All times are Central.
