SAN LORENZO IVORY IS MORNING-LINE FAVORITE FOR REMINGTON PARK FUTURITY

The $973,665 Remington Park Futurity, featuring the top 2-year-old Oklahoma-breds, is the headliner of a huge night of racing Saturday, April 16. The restricted Grade 1 event at 330 yards features a field of 10 that qualified over two evenings of trial racing with San Lorenzo Ivory tabbed as the morning-line favorite.

The first race for Remington Park Futurity night on Saturday is 6pm.

Remington Park odds-maker Jerry Shottenkirk placed San Lorenzo Ivory as the 2-1 morning-line favorite. Owned by Rogelio Marquez, Jr. and running out of the barn of the season’s current leading trainer, Santos Carrizales, Jr., San Lorenzo Ivory posted the fastest overall qualifying time from the 22 trials. The gelding by Ivory James from the Heza Fast Man mare Ashleys Gold Digger flew :16.680 over a fast track, and was .201 faster than the second qualifier from the April 2 trials.

Leading Remington Park jockey Juan Pulido, winner of the local riding title last year, qualified four horses for the Remington Park Futurity. He has chosen to stay with San Lorenzo Ivory but had plenty of options as all four horses he rode to qualification are trained by Carrizales. All of them have garnered plenty of morning-line respect as well.

PYC Avenue, third-fastest qualifier on April 2, is the second favorite in the morning-line with odds of 9-2. Jess Angel Blood, second-fastest qualifier on April 1, is the fourth favorite in the morning-line with odds of 6-1. Eye On The Card, fifth-fastest qualifier on April 1, is 10-1 on the line.

Mitey Like A Rose, top qualifier from the April 1 night of trials with a time of :16.897, is third-favorite on the morning-line at 5-1 odds.

The Remington Park Futurity field by program and post-position order, with trainer, jockey and morning-line odds:
1. Eye On the Card: Santos Carrizales, Jr., Francisco Calderon, 10-1
2. Cartel Kisses: Heath Taylor, Rodrigo Vallejo, 12-1
