Letta’s Legacy was sent off at 1-5 odds as the strong favorite in the $99,600 Oklahoma Classics Distaff Sprint and crossed the finish line first. However, she was disqualified for interference and So Jacksann benefitted, elevated from second to victory at 26-1 odds.

The stewards determined that Letta’s Legacy moved in front of the third-place finisher Lanaluah (22-1) in the stretch at about the 16th-pole without clearance, causing the latter horse to take up. Lanaluah was placed second after the disqualification and Letta’s Legacy was placed third.

It would have been jockey David Cabrera’s fourth win of the night and second Oklahoma Classics stakes win, but unfortunately for him, he was aboard the heavy favorite who was taken down from victory. So Jacksann and jockey Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez gladly moved into the winner’s circle to have their picture taken as those from the barn of C.R. Trout, trainer of Letta’s Legacy, could merely watch and dejectedly take their DQ’d winner back to her barn.

Letta’s Legacy had crossed the finish line in the six-furlong race on the dirt as a 2-1/2 length winner, giving her yet another win in her long line of victories here. But it was not to be on this night.

When So Jacksann was put up as the new winner, the 6-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by Wilburn, from the Afleet Alex mare So What, lit up the toteboard. She paid $55.40 to win, $26.20 to place and $7.60 to show to her backers. The winning time of the race was 1:10.91. Letta’s Legacy was one length to the good over her pursuers at the top of the lane, but she couldn’t keep a straight line.

Scott Corderman was the new winning trainer after the DQ for his owner C. Dale Ledgess of Davis, Okla. So Jacksann was bred by her owner. She pocketed $59,760 for the win and improved her record to 23-7-4-4, $205,609.

After the DQ, past the top three in finish order were So Jordan (5-1) fourth, Raspberry Martini (51-1) fifth, Flat Out Kelce (11-1) sixth, Cyndi Loper (6-1) seventh and Angel Kiss (31-1) eighth.
