STAKES WINNERS GALORE DOMINATE WORK TAB THIS PAST WEEK AT REMINGTON PARK

The Remington Park work tab was peppered with stakes winners this week who are prepping for the upcoming thoroughbred meeting.
Some of the old veteran stakes winners, including Tap the Dot and Number One Dude, were among those black-type winners. Both of those horses turned 8-years-old this year.
The 2026 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season begins Friday, Aug. 21 and continues to Saturday, Dec. 19.
Tap the Dot is an 8-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding by Moro Tap, from the Langfuhr mare Dot Product, trained by 20-time leading trainer at Remington Park, Steve Asmussen. The old gray gelding was bred by Jinger Clemmer. Tap the Dot has run out a record of 34 starts, eight wins, six seconds and 11 thirds for lifetime earnings of $361,709.
Among his eight victories, Tap the Dot’s most recent stakes win came in the $50,000 Red Earth Handicap on Sept. 12, 2024 with Stewart Elliott in the saddle. It was the second year in a row Tap the Dot had won the race at 7-1/2 furlongs on the grass course. He also won the Oklahoma Turf Classic at 1-1/16th miles greensward here on Oct. 21, 2022.
Tap the Dot last raced on May 30 this year in a conditioned allowance event in which he ran fifth at one mile on the turf at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. His workout at Remington Park was :52.19 seconds, handily for a half-mile on Sunday, July 26.
Other stakes winners that worked this week included:
Number One Dude – Now an 8-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding, this multiple stakes winner has not won a race since 2024 when he took a handicap at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., on May 6 of that year. His last win at Remington Park came in the $70,000 Red Earth Stakes at 7-1/2 furlongs on the turf on Sept. 23, 2022. The gelding is owned and was bred by Terry Westemeir of Broken Arrow, Okla. Despite not having won a stakes in a while, he did run second twice at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., this year in allowance-optional claiming races, both times at 1-1/16th miles on the dirt.
Number One Dude’s lifetime record, coming into this meet, is 49 starts, 10 wins, 14 seconds and four thirds for $678,090. The gelding’s most recent race was a seventh-place finish on May 30 this year in allowance-optional claiming company at Lone Star Park. He worked Saturday, July 25, going four furlongs in :51.09, handily.
Usually Wrong – This 5-year-old Kentucky-bred horse trained by Robertino Diodoro and owned by Shaby Selman, is coming into the meet off a stakes win at Lone Star Park. He won the $125,000 Grand Prairie Turf Sprint at five furlongs by a half-length as the 3-5 heavy favorite June 27. This horse has an impressive 10 wins from 15 lifetime starts for $541,465. He has run in five black-type races in a row, winning three of them. He has only raced once in his career at Remington Park and didn’t light the board. He finished fourth in the $250,000 Great West Turf Sprint on Sept. 28, 2025.
Usually Wrong, bred by Selman and BG Stables, worked July 26 in :51.05, handily, at a half-mile.
Heroic Move – Another Diodoro trainee, this one a 6-year-old Kentucky-bred millionaire by Quality Road, out of the Smart Strike mare Family Tree, who is a graded stakes winner. His last trip to the winner’s circle in stakes company was in the Grade 3, $400,000 Steve Sexton Mile Stakes at Lone Star Park on May 25 this year by 1-1/2 lengths. He came from 11 lengths back to win that race. Heroic Move has a lifetime record of 31-9-5-4, $1,282,031. Heroic Move ran seventh in the Sept. 24, 2023, Grade 3 $400,000 Oklahoma Derby and then followed that up with a win in allowance non-winners of two company on Oct. 11, 2023, here. He has had one other start here and that was a victory in an open allowance race on Sept. 19 last year.
Heroic Move worked :50.22 at four furlongs July 26, handily.
Breakable Code – A winner of 7-of-11 races lifetime, this Oklahoma-bred gelding by Code West, out of the Broken Vow mare Honorable Break, is owned and was bred by Bryan Hawk and is trained by Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Famer Joe Offolter. Breakable Code hasn’t raced since Oct. 17, 2025, at Remington Park, but that was a victory in the Oklahoma Classics Sprint. This gelding also won the Silver Goblin Stakes on Nov. 8, 2024 here as a 2-year-old.
Breakable Code also has two seconds from those starts and has earned $229,812.
He worked Tuesday, July 28, stopping the clock in :49.11, handily, at a half-mile.
Royalamerican – This now 3-year-old gelding of owner-trainer-breeder C.R. Trout’s was the top Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old at Remington Park last year, winning the Oklahoma Classics Juvenile Stakes and the Don C. McNeill Stakes before finishing third to Express Kid in the Remington Springboard Mile. Since then, he has won an allowance and the Welder Stakes at WRD on Feb. 24 and March 10, respectively in his first starts as a sophomore with regular rider David Cabrera getting a leg up from Trout. This Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Fame trainer thought enough of Royalamerican to take him to Oaklawn for the Bathhouse Row Stakes on April 18, in which he finished sixth to Crupper, who was sent to the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes by Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Famer Donnie Von Hemel.
Royalamerican’s record now is 8-4-2-1, $175,1999.
He worked a half-mile July 28 in :49.28, handily.
