Kentucky Derby 2023

America’s most famous race, the Kentucky Derby, is featured via simulcast at Remington Park on Saturday, May 6. Enjoy all the festivities, fashion, flair and food as the 149th Kentucky Derby, and a stellar program filled with other graded stakes events, is featured from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday, May 6.

Remington Park will begin a special afternoon of live American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa racing with an early start time of Noon. Featured at Remington Park is the Grade 1, $100,000 Leo Stakes at 400 yards for the many of the top older Quarter Horses in training. Also on the live card, the Grade 2, $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes for the distance runners at 870yards.

Remington Park will open mutuel windows at 9am for the early simulcast racing start from Churchill Downs at 9:30am. The Kentucky Derby will run at approximately 5:30pm.

Saturday, May 6 at Remington Park:
9am – Remington Park opens, Mutuel Lines Open, Players opens
9:30am – First simulcast race from Churchill Downs
11am – Service begins in Club 1 and Silks Restaurant
11am – Bricktown Brewery and Henry Hudson’s open
NOON – First Remington Park race
5:30pm – Kentucky Derby simulcast from Churchill Downs

Please note, Advance Wagering will be available on Friday, May 5 at Remington Park, to allow fans to bet the Kentucky Derby prior to the big Saturday.

Kentucky Derby Day Hat & Tie Style Contest

The first Saturday in May is the date for America’s best known horse race, the 149th Kentucky Derby! Remington Park will have all the winning action via simulcast from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, May 6.

While waiting for the “Run for the Roses,” enter the extremely popular Kentucky Derby Day Hat & Tie Style Contest at Remington Park. Free to enter, the contest takes place from 2-4pm on Track level-North.

Guests 18 and older will have the opportunity to win their share of $3,600 in total prize money. The competition is available in multiple categories:
– Most Elegant
– Most Creative
– Best Bowtie
– Best Couple

Prizes are awarded to the first, second and third-place finishers in each category.

Simulcast racing is underway early at 9:30am as Churchill Downs gets started with their stakes-laden program, leading up to the Kentucky Derby, at approximately 5:30pm.
