Oklahoma Derby Day for 2023 takes place on Sept. 24, the lone Sunday afternoon of the season. Racing and festive activities begin at 3pm-Central.
The Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby is the marquee race with the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks headlining the undercard. A total of eight stakes races are scheduled for Oklahoma Derby Day, with total purses for the card at nearly $1.2 million.
The Oklahoma Derby is a top Breeders’ Cup prep race for many of the nation’s 3-year-olds. The day also offers many divisional stakes-racing categories and even more Breeders’ Cup prep opportunities for top horses heading to Santa Anita in Arcadia, Calif., during the first weekend in November.
These six stakes races join the Oklahoma Derby and Remington Park Oaks on Sunday, Sept. 24:
– $100,000 David M. Vance Sprint
– $75,000 Remington Green (turf)
– $75,000 Ricks Memorial Stakes (turf)
– $75,000 Kip Deville Stakes
– $50,000 E.L. Gaylord Memorial Stakes
– $50,000 Flashy Lady Stakes

The best dressed festivities take place Sunday, Sept. 24 from 3-5pm on Track North.
The contest will feature $3,600 in prizes, ready to be won in four style divisions:

Most Creative
Best Bowtie
Best Couple
The top three contestants in each division will win prize money.
The Contest is free to enter (must be 18 and older) on Sept. 24.

The Oklahoma Derby Day Wine Festival returns as a featured amenity on Oklahoma Derby Day, Sunday, Sept. 24.
The tremendous afternoon of racing begins at 3pm, corresponding with the beginning of the wine festival that continues until 7pm.
Oklahoma’s finest wineries will be represented, providing tastings as part of the activities. Guests may purchase wine tasting tickets for $25 and receive a souvenir, stainless steel wine tumbler as well.

Wineries participating include: Backroad Vineyard, Oke Ozark Winery, Rocky Top Winery, Tidewater Winery, Wild Horse Canyon Farms.
A portions of proceeds from the wine festival will benefit Remington Park Charities.
