FLASHY LASS DOMINATES, WINNING SHE’S ALL IN STAKES AT REMINGTON PARK
Flashy Lass went two-for-two at the Remington Park meet, winning an allowance race by 7-3/4 lengths in October and then stepping up in class, and dominating the $72,750 She’s All In Stakes by 5-3/4 lengths on Friday night.
Top rider for the second consecutive year at Remington Park, Stewart Elliott, was aboard for one of his four victories on the evening, taking this one with ease as the heavy betting favorite at 1-9 odds, going one-mile, 70 yards.
The field for the She’s All In scratched down from eight fillies and mares to four at post-time. Kirby Kaye (8-1) set the early pace in the route race, going the first quarter-mile in :25.48 and getting the half-mile in :49.48. Flashy Lass took the lead and took over after the half-mile mark. The 4-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Street Sense, out of the Tapit mare Open House, hit three-quarters of a mile in 1:14.03, followed by 1:39.55 for the mile and finished in 1:43.78 over the fast track.
Flashy Lass paid $2.20 to win and $2.10 to place. There was no show wagering in the race due to the short field. Kirby Kaye (8-1) ran second, followed by Our Davina (5-1) third and Tom’s Girl (11-1) fourth. Bru Na Boinne, Corningstone, Palacein and Stellar Lily all scratched prior to first post.
Flashy Lass is trained by Steve Asmussen and she gave the trainer his fourth win in the history of the She’s All In Stakes. He also took home this trophy in 2021 with Casual, 2019 with Magical and 2018 with Clever Serve.
Owned by Gus King of Arab, Ala., Flashy Lass was bred in Kentucky by Gary and Mary West Stables.
This was the first win in the She’s All In for both Elliott and King. The race is named in honor of She’s All In, an Oklahoma-bred mare and member of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Fame, who compiled over $1 million in her racing career, scoring 11 times at Remington Park.
