PYC FURY JM RUNS WINNING STREAK TO SEVEN, WINNING THIRD CONSECUTIVE RACE THIS SEASON AT REMINGTON PARK

PYC Fury JM continued to set the track on fire with her seventh straight win, and the third in a row this season at Remington Park with a Friday night score under jockey Angel O. Ramirez.
It’s a good thing they don’t take points away from her for tight finishes, however, because PYC Fury JM never seems to win by much. On Friday night it was by a nose against starter allowance horses that had started for a claiming price of $7,500 or less in the past two years. Her two previous wins at Remington Park this meet were by a neck and another neck. It’s almost like she teases her competition into believing they can beat her and then she sticks out her nose at the end. Of her seven consecutive trips to the winner’s circle, six of the victories were by less than a length.
PYC Fury JM, a 5-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by Im a Fancy PYC, out of the Furyofthewind mare Hidden Fury, is trained by Tyler Stein and owned by James D. Watson of Eureka, Kan. She may be the claim of the decade for this crew as they bought PYC Fury JM for $12,500 out of a claiming race on May 22, 2025 at Remington Park. Since claiming her from trainer Felesha Gold’s barn, this mare has won eight-of-nine starts, mostly against starter allowance fields that she qualified for by running in those claiming events. The only race she lost since being claimed was at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa, Aug. 2 last summer. Even in that race, PYC Fury JM ran third against conditional $15,000 claimers.
PYC Fury JM pocketed $11,275 on Friday night, about the same amount that Watson bought her for, making the other seven wins gravy. The mare improved her lifetime record to 21 starts, nine wins, three seconds and three thirds and a bankroll of $103,697.
PYC Fury JM stopped the timer in the 250-yard race in :13.342 over a fast track, earning an 87 speed index. She was sent off at the wagering favorite at 4-5 odds and paid $3.60 to win, $2.60 to place and $2.10 to show. Stolin Home Brew (3-1) made the race exciting as this 7-year-old gelding trained by Marla Vargas was flying on the outside trying to get to the line first under jockey Jonathan Dominguez. When the photo came down, a slim nose separated the two horses. Eyesa Candy Guy (3-1) was another half-length back in third.
PYC Fury JM was bred by Cuadra JM, the previous owner.
TRAINER MATT WHITEKILLER, JOCKEY CODY SMITH JOIN FORCES TO WIN THREE APIECE FOR HORSE RACING HAT TRICK
Trainer Matt Whitekiller and jockey Cody Smith enjoyed a big Friday at Remington Park, earning a hat trick together.
Smith, the all-time winningest jockey in Paint racing, got a leg up in races four, six and eight from Whitekiller and they won with Flyindwntheturnpike (Paint), Uncle Wisdom (QH), and Im That Lucky Penny (QH). Flyindwntheturnpike went off at 8-5 and paid $5.40 to win, Uncle Wisdom was 2-1 and paid $6.20, while Im That Lucky Penny was the unexpected winner as a 10-1 longshot and returning $23.60 to win.
Whitekiller owns Flyindwntheturnpike, a 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred son of multiple world champion Paint, Painted Turnpike. That winner for Whitekiller on Friday night was bred by Maddie Devereaux. Uncle Wisdom, owned by Jeff and Crystal Gilliam of Louin, Mich., was bred in Oklahoma by Jahree Standridge and is a son of the champion Quarter Horse Uncle D. Appropriately enough, Smith was the regular rider of this horse’s sire when Uncle D was a two-time American Quarter Horse Association Racing Champion. His biggest win was the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico.
Im That Lucky Penny, a 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by TF Im That Guy, out of the Ivory James mare Ivory Task, is owned by Kyle and Kellie Taylor of Woodward, Okla. She was bred by Norman Hollingsworth.
Remington Park racing continues Saturday with a special early start of Noon. The simulcast of the 152nd Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs will be featured following the conclusion of live racing.
