One of three fillies in this race that have had at least 16 starts. One of the experiences this experienced filly hasn’t had is a stakes win. Her only try at black type came on Dec. 17 last year at Remington Park in the $100,000 Trapeze Stakes. This daughter of Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome could do no better than a soundly defeated fifth in that effort. She has run in the money in 11-of-16 starts lifetime. She was bred in Kentucky by Joe Parker. Record: 16 starts, two wins, five seconds and four thirds for $95,851 in earnings.

By Will Take Charge, out of the Smart Strike mare Cleopatra’s Finest. She broke her maiden at Remington Park last year and then won the $300,000 Sunland Park Oaks in New Mexico this year by three-quarters of a length after trailing by 15 lengths in the race. This filly came very close to breaking through for a second stakes win in the $75,000 Toni Samora Memorial at Sunray Park in Farmington, New Mexico. She ran third, beaten only three-quarters of a length. She is a Kentucky home-bred for her owner. Record: 10-2-2-3, $207,941 earnings.

3 – Free Like a Girl, 5-1

The second-favorite in the morning-line, this filly invades Remington Park after finishing second in the Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks in late August. Free Like A Girl will be handled by her regular jockey, Pedro Cotto, Jr., who has ridden her in 13 straight races. The top winner in the Remington Park Oaks with eight career triumphs. She is well-traveled with stakes wins at Louisiana Downs, Evangeline Downs, Delta Downs and Fair Grounds. A daughter of El Deal from the Flashy Bull mare Flashy Prize, she has won races ranging from five furlongs to 1-1/16 miles. She was bred in Louisiana by Kim Renee Stover and Lisa Osborne. Record: 16-8-4-3, $562,128 in earnings.

By Den’s Legacy, out of the Concord Point mare High Price Hit. She is carrying the local flag and is a multiple stakes winner at Remington Park, having won the $75,000 Slide Show Stakes here as a 2-year-old and then the $50,000 Oklahoma Stallion Stakes fillies division this year. Both stakes wins have come in two of her past three starts. She was bred in Oklahoma by the owner. Record: 6-3-2-1, $139,355 earnings.

5 – Juju’s Map, 1-2

Grade 1-winning filly by Liam’s Map, out of the Flatter mare Nagambie, was building quite a resume as a 2-year-old last year, breaking her maiden by 5-3/4 lengths at Ellis Park in Kentucky and immediately stepping up in class to win the Grade 1, $400,000 Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland Race Course. She impressed so much in that effort on Oct. 8 that trainer Brad Cox entered her in the Grade 1, $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar near San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 5. She was game in a second-place finish to Echo Zulu. Cox is the No. 4 trainer in the country with more than $17 million earned by his horses. She was bred in Kentucky by Fred Hertrich III. Juju’s Map is nearing that $1 million milestone with a career record of 7-3-2-2 with $753,180 in earnings.

6 – Bionica, 12-1

Asmussen is looking for his fifth win in the Oaks. He captured the trophy for this race in 2019 with Lady Apple, 2018 with She’s a Julie, 2005 with More than Promised (when it was run at one mile on the turf) and 1999 with Carlitta. This filly by Tapit, out of the Candy Ride (ARG) mare Modify, would not be out of the question despite her double-digit odds. She has won two races in a row, breaking her maiden at one mile on the dirt at Lone Star Park on May 21, virtually going wire-to-wire and then following that with an allowance win by 4-3/4 lengths at Remington Park, going 1 mile and 70 yards. She is a Kentucky home-bred for Winchell Thoroughbreds. Record: 3-2-0-0, $40,087 in earnings.

7 – Hannah’s Haven, 20-1

By Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, out of the Congrats mare Miss Hetty. The filly’s sole stakes win came in the $50,000 Spotted Horse at Evangeline Downs, going one mile on Aug. 5 on the main track. Gets Remington Park’s four-time defending champion rider for this, the first time Cabrera has been in the irons of this horse. She was bred in Kentucky by Springhouse Farm, John F. Goldthorpe and American Equistock. Record: 11-2-2-1, $56,771 earnings.

8 – My Friend Amy, 10-1

By Kentucky Derby winner Orb, out of the Smart Strike mare Orrery. It’s a family affair. Scott is Jayde’s father and also a longtime trainer in Louisiana. My Friend Amy would be trying to step up in class from a second-level allowance win here at Remington Park. She was fifth in the Grade 3 Iowa Oaks at Prairie Meadows in July this summer, her only stakes attempt in 17 career starts. She was bred in Kentucky by JSM Equine. Record: 17-3-7-3, $159,927 earnings.
