ZAZAS HASTA LUEGO WINS OKLAHOMA PAINT AND APPALOOSA JUVENILE AT REMINGTON PARK

Zazas Hasta Luego overcame a lot of trouble in her trial, but the 2-year-old Texas-bred Paint filly had clear sailing on the outside Saturday night at Remington Park, winning the $35,000 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Juvenile.

The daughter of Hott Pursuit (QH), from the CRM Livewire mare Zazas Island Girl, switched riders to Jonathan Dominguez for this stakes race and he guided her home from post-position nine on this night.

Despite going off at 10-1 odds in her trial and running third, beaten 2-1/2 lengths, Zazas Hasta Luego was sent off Saturday night as the 2-1 betting favorite and she ran like she was never a longshot. She won by three-quarters of a length at 300 yards and paid $6.40 to win, $4.80 to place and $4 to show. She outlasted runner-up Dulce Dinero (9-1), who was another length in front of third-place finisher Bawitdaba (9-1).

The filly earned $13,711 for owners Russell and Melissa Trull of Morton, Texas and improved her record to one win and one third in two attempts, for career earnings of $14,316 in earnings. Kasey Willis trains the winner for that the Trulls.

The rest of the order of finish past the top three was WF Manfredi (3-1) fourth, Tyger Hippie (16-1) fifth, TC Cruising Crue (6-1) sixth, Go Lady Bug (7-1) seventh, Working Angel (6-1) eighth and Peace Out Homies (18-1) ninth. Staggerd Like Haggard was an early scratch from this race.

Running time for Zazas Hasta Luego was :15.518 on the fast track, earning a speed index of 88.
